Shine

CLIENT IMANI DEVELOPMENT

Designed to meet IC3 zoning, which allows for Artist Studios, Shine is a cornerstone project in the evolving contemporary fabric of the Mount Pleasant and Brewery Creek heritage area. While Shine's massing, form, materiality, and detailing evoke the character and form of an industrial building – and grew out of the historical context of the area – playfully staggered balconies provide a sense of neighborliness to the project, and their orientation helps promote communication between residents and the semi-public areas in the courtyard.

Building features include an artist’s workshop, extensive green plantings, and outdoor communal spaces on both the second and rooftop levels that facilitate resident interaction and help build a sense of community.
